Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, breakdown activities and coordination of 3rd party suppliers. We are looking for a Technician, Mechanically bias but with an understanding of the Electrical side of the department. You will be required to undertake timely diagnosis, fault finding and scheduled/unscheduled repair and maintenance of the mechanical plant and systems, ensuring all site engineering and maintenance procedures are complied with at all times. Another crucial aspect of the role is providing support and input into the sites engineering integrity strategy and asset risk register, for all mechanical assets. We are looking for a flexible candidate with the ability to deputise for the Maintenance Manager from time to time. ? ONC / C&G / NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline is essential, along with a high level of practical thermal/process plant maintenance experience. (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience). ? A good understanding of all HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement, with IOSH Managing Safely a preferred requirement. Skills & Experience ? Knowledge and experience of maintaining a biomass or thermal power plant process, permit and safety systems and WSE(LOLER/PSSR). ? General knowledge and experience of steam turbines, combustion systems, steam cycle chemistry, WTP, generators and flue gas emission abatement. ? Working knowledge of preventative maintenance/defect repair of valves, pumps, fans, mechanical drives and conveyors. ? An understanding and ability to read P&ID and isometric diagrams ?
